Living in Yamagata, I saw the beautiful changing four seasons. Even though the situation of COVID-19, nature has changed, as usual, the tender greens sprout, and the days they grow up like a raging fire are bright. I strongly feel the strongness of the lives from them.
Recently, I often get ideas for my artworks in the fieldwork. However, the situation that we cannot travel freely brought my eyes to my close environment.
This work combines the image of the trees’ energy that spring from nature, the pattern of Japanese traditional basket called Kagome used for charm, and the silhouette of the bird believed as a messenger of God.
The pattern of Kagome means the opposite things like yin and yang, and light and darkness. It also means harmony for removing evil spirits.
